Flashback Friday: Fudpuckers Teen Night — Part 1

You wont find God in this place…..

There are a few events that shape every man and every woman's life. These events, either good or bad, can re-direct a persons life trajectory.

Now I am not saying that I have been to Vietnam, but what I experienced on a wet & humid March night in 2006 made me realize that if there was a more godless place in the World, I sure as hell hadn't heard of it.

Now, by 2006, me and the fellas were experienced Destin, FL spring breakers. At a ripe age of 13/14, we had been in the muck quite a few times now. We could have written a book on how to meet girls on the beach, slide into their myspace DMs, and then steal 3 miller lites from our parents condos in the thick of the night.

None of these impressive feats would prepare us for what would we experience on the night of March 17th, 2006.

A recap…..

It was a beautiful day…. not a cloud in the sky and I would wager the temperature was at a pure 85 degrees. A perfect spring break day for 8–9 fourteen year old teenagers all wearing their favorite backwards flat bill hat accompanied with their finest Hurley shirt.

After skim boarding for countless hours, our primitive minds were now focused on the nights activities. There were whispers among the beaches elite that there was a Teen night happening at the local hot spot, Fudpuckers.

There were plenty of questions racing through our brains…. whats a teen night? What is a fuckpucker and why is it hosting a teen night? How has the owner not been arrested for hosting a themed party called “Teen Night?” there was simply no time to ponder too long over these hard-hitting existential questions… we were on a mission.

As my buddy plugged in his white ipod nano into the loud speaker, the room was suddenly filled with the poetic words from the hit song “This is tha way I live”. He assured us not to worry as “Two Step” by DJ Unk was sure to follow… crikey. A text from the Knoxville girls appears on my Razor. They are about to head to Teen night
